The movie “Swingers” is a huge metaphor of networking by
using dating and hooking up girls. Jon Favreau’s character loses the girl that
he really liked which is almost equivalent to losing a job. As he struggles to
find the girl, which is equivalent to searching for a job. He misses up and
gets turned down. He thought he won’t be able to find the girl “finding a job.”
His friends helps him get back in line with his life and then he was able to
find the girl, equivalent to finally finding his job that he wanted.
Now this movie has other meaning as well. It’s okay to have
your friends help you out, but when you to on the interview, you’ll need to
have the courage to go alone. Be
positive. Use positive language. Smile. See the good in people. And remember to smile
and introduce yourself. Struggle doesn’t mean that you’re failure, it
does seem that way, but it’s not. Everyone struggles in life in some ways.
Everyone trip and falls, but you have to get up and run to the finish line. The
main message that this movie is trying say is that go around and talk to people
anywhere, you might find the job or someone that you’re are looking for. And
probably even both. Visit
as many groups as possible that spark your interest.
