EOC Week 7: LinkedIn

The way I see LinkedIn is that it is facebook, but for professional and businesses. It's a social media where people in my industry can hook up and set up projects and various thinks like that. My LinkedIn is https://www.linkedin.com/pub/christopher-sua/aa/135/40. I going to use it as a way to hook up with my work friends that I don't have on my personal facebook. I want to keep personal life and my work life separate. Although there might some exceptions here and there. The people I tell my past life stories to and go out and drink can be on my facebook and those that I don't will be on my LinkIn.

In order to seduce my employers to see my website I will put both of my Demo and Sizzle Reel for my website. I will also my website look professional and fancy. Also design it where it's easy to navigate. I'm going have both demo reels on my home page and then have a button that will link to my portfolio page. The first thing people will see on my homepage is my slideshow of screenshot my various works.

EOC Week 5: Devil Wars Prada - Deeper meaning

There is a deeper meaning of the first scene of the movie, “Devil Wears Prada.” Anne Hathaway’s character goes to her interview with the famous fashion magazine, “Run Ways.” Anne Hathaway’s character is very unprepared and didn’t even know her boss’s name. Although Anne Hathaway came to the job interview unfashionably for a job about fashion, she still got the job, because she stood up for herself from her boss that everyone is afraid of. That’s one thing about the job interview is that you have to impress the employer. Once you get the job remember that you might have to make big decision on the first day.

Week 3: EOC: Deeper meaning of Swingers

The movie “Swingers” is a huge metaphor of networking by using dating and hooking up girls. Jon Favreau’s character loses the girl that he really liked which is almost equivalent to losing a job. As he struggles to find the girl, which is equivalent to searching for a job. He misses up and gets turned down. He thought he won’t be able to find the girl “finding a job.” His friends helps him get back in line with his life and then he was able to find the girl, equivalent to finally finding his job that he wanted.

Now this movie has other meaning as well. It’s okay to have your friends help you out, but when you to on the interview, you’ll need to have the courage to go alone. Be positive. Use positive language. Smile. See the good in people. And remember to smile and introduce yourself. Struggle doesn’t mean that you’re failure, it does seem that way, but it’s not. Everyone struggles in life in some ways. Everyone trip and falls, but you have to get up and run to the finish line. The main message that this movie is trying say is that go around and talk to people anywhere, you might find the job or someone that you’re are looking for. And probably even both. Visit as many groups as possible that spark your interest.
